Lancaster EMS provides comprehensive, skillful, cost effective emergency and non-emergency health care services to the Lancaster community while continuing to evolve with changing health needs. We are the only Nationally Accredited ambulance service in Lancaster County and only 1 of 5 in Pennsylvania.

On average, our highly-trained, EMTs and Paramedics respond to over 100 requests for services each day. Our gold standard of care is provided and supported by a remarkable team of over 160 staff members. In 2021, Lancaster EMS responded to over 43,000 requests for services.

Lancaster EMS is a private, nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization providing primary 9-1-1 emergency medical services to 21 municipalities in Lancaster County. 48% of our responses are in the City of Lancaster. Lancaster EMS is not owned or operated by any hospital.

Lancaster EMS has been Nationally Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) since 2005! There are 187 ambulance companies accredited by CAAS out of 18,000 agencies in the United States.
